The Clark County Republican Party is pleased with the apparent outcome of the Columbia River Crossing (CRC) project. Our membership has made it apparent that they were firmly against the project and made their sentiments known at the recent 2nd quarter Central Committee meeting where a resolution was passed unanimously that opposed the project.
We see this apparent outcome as a victory of citizen involvement. We see it as a win of and for the people who must shoulder the burdens of irresponsible spending and poor planning by local, state and federal governments. We applaud our local citizens who stood up to the political machine at town halls, City Council and County Commissioner meetings. We also recognize the great efforts by our elected representatives who stood their ground and said there must be a better way.
The Clark County Republican Party is excited at the prospect of solving our transportation issues in a more fiscally responsible and practical way that meets the needs of Clark County’s working citizens.
