The Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts (WASWD) has named State Senator Ann Rivers "Outstanding Legislator" of the year. In a WASWD meeting held at Clark Regional Wastewater headquarters, Senator Rivers was given a plaque that was inscribed with the following... "Outstanding Legislator - Presented to Senator Ann Rivers in appreciation of your leadership and support for legislation advocating and protecting the interests of constituents served by Washington's water and sewer districts."
"It's important to protect my constituents who are also sewer and water districts rate payers. This award is reflective of the devotion to that mission and to my people.", said Senator Rivers.
According to the WASWD website, their mission is to advance the work of water and sewer districts through education, advocacy, and collaboration.
They conduct educational conferences, workshops, and webinars on issues affecting the water and wastewater industry.
They provide training for elected officials, staff, and others. They also provide members with resources essential to the industry.
WASWD advocates on legislative matters affecting the water and wastewater industry and actively engages regulators.
