From the Chairman's Desk-October 20, 2015

Promote Your Candidates!

If you do not receive your ballot by this Friday, please call the election office at 360-397-2345 and request a replacement.

Promote your 2015 candidates!  Ballots are here!  We are very proud of our candidates who are working as hard as they can every single day to win their races.  Here are some ways you can help:

  • Counter the Columbian's hit pieces on your candidates and your party with your own communication with family & friends.  They are in full-on attack mode which I consider a compliment.  They recognize the threat we pose to their progressive agenda.  Yay for us!  But we need you to stand with with us and these excellent candidates.
  • Contact the candidate(s) of your choice and ask them what they need from you
  • Join our call center.  We have a terrific modern phone system that is efficient and fun
  • Join a canvasing or sign waving effort
  • Stop in at HQ (9401 NE Covington Rd) and pick up supplies to share with family & friends
  • Sign up on the volunteer tab of our website to join the fun!  These are excellent candidates and they deserve our support.  Please devote as much time as possible during these final two weeks.
  • Share the following Party-endorsed campaign links with your friends:

This important meeting is happening today!  Property Rights under attack:
Since posting this information last week several of you have shared your HOA horror stories.  One person suggested http://hoacrisisinamerica.com/.  If you care about preserving property rights you should attend this meeting today (Oct 20) regarding SB5263 which failed in 2015, but is threatening to return in 2016.  Study this issue and attend the hearing at the Firstenberg Center at 1pm today. See the meeting details below in the calendar section and click here for additional information on the bill.

Liz Pike’s awesome response to the Columbian’s hit piece:  Click here to see her demonstrate what a great communicator she will be as County Chair and another reason we are so proud to promote the Write-in Liz Pike effort!  Write in Liz Pike today!

Vandalized Campaign Signs?
This happens every year.  Signs are damaged or go missing.  Bogus signs installed to confuse voters.  We do not condone touching anyone’s signs, but you do have our blessing to repair signs belonging to our candidates.  Keep them looking sharp.  Carry a screw gun and hammer and you can fix most sign problems in seconds.

Coming Events
The events listed may or may not be organized, sponsored or endorsed by the CCRP.  If you have events that you would like to see listed, please send them to media@ClarkRepublicans.com.

IMPORTANT! SB 5263 PROPERTY RIGHTS TESTIMONY TODAY October 20, 1 – 4:30pm
Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Avenue, Vancouver, WA
DON’T LET ANYONE TAKE AWAY YOUR PROPERTY RIGHTS!  Speak up now and tell the Senators listening on October 20th that you don’t need overzealous HOA board members in your backyard!  Senate Bill 5263 may impact your property rights if you live in a homeowner association.  The bill failed in 2015.  It is slated for reintroduction in 2016.  The bill is controversial due that association boards will gain the ability to violate specific Covenants Codes & Restrictions without your vote or consent as a homeowner.  A covenant is a rule governing the use of real property. However, in common usage, it may also refer to a promise or agreement (as formalized in a deed) concerning the use of the land, as where a purchaser of land "covenants" to abide by certain restrictions associated with the use of the land.  Some specifics are here.

Election Day!  November 3
Ballots have to be postmarked by November 3 so if you are really late you can drive it to the Portland airport post office which is open until 10pm (last time we checked).  You can drop it in their mail slot by 8:30pm or wait in line to buy postage until 10pm.  But save the trouble and vote today.

Please encourage others to sign up for our mailing list at http://www.clarkrepublicans.org/join.  Many people do not know that we send this schedule information to them every week in email form.  Also, people may have to rejoin from time to time as their email provider takes them off our list thinking we are spam.  It happens every week and we have no control over it.  So if you ever hear anyone say that they used to get the newsletter, but no longer, they were likely removed by their own provider and they need to rejoin.

Call me.   I am available to you any time,
