More Great Convention Feedback

More coverage from last week’s Clark County Republican Convention, a call for Lincoln Day Dinner volunteers, an invitation to Win Supporters, Not Arguments, and a full schedule of interesting events for your consideration.

We’ve added photos of the convention to our Facebook page (be sure to like the Facebook page).

If you were elected as a Delegate to the State Convention you must register online by this Friday to retain your position.  Click on the green "REGISTER" button and call us if you need help, Kenny 360-521-8565 or Katja 360-771-4858.  Alternates have until May 10 to register.   If you are not receiving our emails sent to Delegates and Alternates, please call.

CVTV was there to capture the opening of the convention and candidate speeches.  Click here for video of the event.  I was honored to award retiringSenator Don Benton a plaque for his 22 years of excellent service.  He gave a passionate speech that focused on fidelity to election promises.  Next, the following candidates spoke: US Senate candidate, Chris Vance, Secretary of State Incumbent Kim Wyman, State Auditor candidate, Mark Miloscia, State Treasurer candidates, Duane Davidson and Michael Waite, Lieutenant Governor candidate, Phillip Yin, 17th LD Senate candidate, Lynda Wilson, 17th LD Representative candidates, Vicki Kraft and Sam Kim, 17th LD Representative Incumbent Paul Harris, 20th LD Representative Incumbent Ed Orcutt, 18thLD Representative Incumbent Liz Pike, 18th LD Representative Incumbent Brandon Vick, County Council District 3 Incumbent David Madore, County Council District 3 candidates, John Blom and Greg Noelck, County Council District 4 candidates, Jennifer McDaniel and Eileen Quiring

WSRP Chairman, Susan Hutchison also visited us.  She traveled to 5 County Conventions in a single day, so she arrived after CVTV had left.  Susan spent considerable time with us, talking to all the legislative districts and at least one TV news crew.

Reporters from the Columbian were there all day and wrote a nice article: http://www.columbian.com/news/2016/mar/12/clark-county-republican-party-convention-2016-huge-success/

Here are some comments we've received from delegates:

Thanks to all of you for your hard work and dedication in pulling the convention off.  It was my first experience and I am so glad I did.  It was an exhilarating experience to participate as a precinct delegate, attend the conference and meet so many folks with such grand spirit and enthusiasm. Despite the ups and downs of the current times, it was truly encouraging and uplifting.   Thanks again. EM.

We were very excited to be involved with the caucus both in our district and at the county level. We loved being able to get to know the local representatives at the beginning of the caucus.  We'd love to help as much as we can (we have two small children) within the party in the future.  Please let us know how we can help.  S&HW

Saturday was my first convention, and I enjoyed it very much. It was good to see the process and hear the discussions. Thank you for your important contribution to the event.  Blessings! CP.

I have to tell you, this Convention was one of the most well organized conventions that I have ever attended.  The last one that I attended was in Richmond, Virginia in 2012 and you guys were superior in organization!!!!  Thanx. B& DT.

Thank you for all the kind notes of encouragement!  At last night’s convention debriefing many ideas were offered to improve future conventions, but there was general agreement that the event had an impressive spirit of cooperation among the participants.  We look forward to our next convention in 2 or 4 years and will springboard off our first one, determined to improve our performance.
