From the Chairman's Desk-July 12, 2016

If you have items for the newsletter or calendar, send them to media@clarkrepublicans.com.  Please visit us at Republican HQ where we have yard signs and literature for many of the candidates.   Our address is 9401 NE Covington Rd., Vancouver and we are open M-F noon-4pm.

The Clark County Republican Party is guided by the 2016 Clark County Republican Party Platform and Core Principles.

Ballots will be in the mail by the end of this week.  Who will get your vote?

Democrat Chuck Green was defeated last year in the County Council race, but presumably supports the votes the council has taken since that election, which overturned most of the conservative gains of the past few years.  For this election, Chuck Green’s choice, and the choice of many prominent Democrats, including the former chairman of their Party, is John Blom and Jennifer McDaniel, according to the candidate’s websites.

Our Party’s stated mission is to elect Republicans who are guided by our platform of lower taxes, limited government and more personal responsibility.  That makes these endorsements by Democrats confusing.  Now, more than ever, we must exercise due diligence when making our choice.  Many races will be decided in this primary, so in this respect your primary vote is more important than the November 8th general election.  Please closely compare the voter’s statements in the voter’s guides and study the other resources listed below in light of your platform and your core principles.

"Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party” – the new Dinesh D'Souza movie will be out July 22nd.  Maybe we can make an event out of it.  Here's part of the synopsis from the movie web-site:  "Hillary's America . . . takes audiences on a gripping journey into the secret history of the Democratic Party and the contentious rise of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton…reveals the sordid truth about Hillary . . . This eye-opening film sheds light on the Democrats' transition from pro-slavery to pro-enslavement, how Hillary Clinton's political mentor was, literally, a cold-blooded gangster, and how the Clintons and other Democrats see foreign policy not in terms of national interest, but in terms of personal profit.  Hillary's America will uncover how their plan is to simply steal America."

Clark County Residents – We received well over the needed 100 signatures to suspend the recently passed Land Use Plan ordinance!  Thank you for your support and watch for more action on this in the months ahead.  Good work!

Office Staff Needed:  It is time to expand our office hours!  Are you able to give up a few hours per week to keep this office serving the public?  We have kept the office staffed every weekday for two years, expanding during the campaign season.  Most of our volunteers donate just one morning or one afternoon each week so the load is light on everyone.  Can you join the team?  Please contact the Office Manager, Rich Johnson at 360-253-2250 or richj@tairedd.com.

Fair booth workers needed:  The Clark County Fair is coming August 5th through the 14th and we need people to staff the booth.  Please contact Katja at 360-771-4858 wa4liberty@gmail.com to get on the schedule.  We will have two people at the booth each shift.

Paid campaign work: WSRP is accepting applications for Field Directors in key targeted regions (including Clark County).  The Field Director assists in increasing Republican voter registration, increasing the voter identification numbers in the region by leading canvassing efforts, helps Republicans in local races, and motivates and trains the Republican Party grassroots in preparation for 2016’s statewide elections.  For a full job description of the Field Director position and instructions on how to submit your application, CLICK HERE.  Jake Braunger, Political Director Washington State Republican Party  (425) 460-0570

Despite superintendent of schools being non partisan I would say I find the statement made by this candidate reassuring. Right now that most powerful tool the leftist agenda has is that they are alone with our children more than we are
