From the Chairman's Desk-December 15, 2015

Have Your Tickets Yet?

Fellow Republicans, let's meet the 2016 statewide Republican candidates and have a party!  All three of the statewide Republican challengers will be at our Night Before New Year's Eve Dinner on December 30th and anxious to meet you.  Get your tickets here.

We’ll have dinner, visit with friends, and look forward to the New Year together!  We promise exhilarating candidate speeches, delicious food & a festive atmosphere.  While Republicans hold nearly every elective partisan office in Clark County and the state legislature, we have only one statewide officeholder, Secretary of State, Kim Wyman.  The offices currently held by Democrats include Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Treasurer, Auditor, Attorney General, Insurance Commissioner, and Superintendent of Public Lands.  Let’s make a New Year’s Resolution on December 30th to reverse the trend!  Come join Governor Candidate, Bill Bryant; State Auditor candidate, Mark Miloscia; and US Senate candidate, Chris Vance at our party.  Get your tickets here.

It was a dark & stormy night:  For being one of the most miserable, rainy nights of the month we had a remarkably good turnout of citizens concerned about property rights.  Due to popular demand we will host another informative discussion on SB5263, the HOA/Property Rights Bill this Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7:00 - 8:30pm. If you have not yet read the concerns you can find it here.  See the calendar entry below for additional details.  If you live in an HOA or love someone who does you should probably attend this meeting.

Our treasurer is looking for merchant services advice:  The Clark County Republican Party is an all-volunteer organization.  Our success depends upon finding volunteers who have expertise and can step up and take charge of certain projects.  Today, I am looking for advice on credit card clearing house vendors.  If this is something that you have had to deal with in your business, I would appreciate an email from you so we can make sure that we are doing our best to receive the most of donations and avoid higher fees or frustration from needless charges.  Please contact me at:  Sincerely, Michael Delavar, Treasurer

THIS WEEK:  Candidate filing week for Diking and Drainage District Commissioners.  If you own property in one of these 3 districts you are eligible to run for commissioner.  Election for these offices is on a rather unusual schedule so filing week is December 14 – 18 and the election will be February 2.  Please take a look at this press release and let us know if you need further information.   Drainage district #2 encompasses part of Precincts 535 and 536.  Drainage District #5: portions of precincts 573 and 617; Drainage District #14: portion of precincts 112 and 113.

CAUCUS TRAINING FOR EVERYONE! January 7, 7:00 – 8:30pm
Clark County Republican Party HQ - 9401 NE Covington Rd., Vancouver
Each Thursday evening in January and February, prior to the February 20 caucus, we will offer training sessions regarding the purpose of the caucus and the rules that will be followed to establish the party platform and elect delegates to the county convention.  The development of the party platform begins at the caucus, so it is your opportunity to express what kind of Republican Party you desire.  Our goal is that everyone will be an effective caucus participant and meet neighbors that share their concerns.

2016 STATEWIDE CAUCUSES February 20, 2016, 10:00am
Locations in Clark County TBD
The party platform will be discussed and resolutions presented.  Delegates to the county convention will be elected from each precinct.  The precinct caucus is a great setting to meet your neighbors who also wish to advocate Republican principles.  Please contact us if you want to help organize an effective event.

Please encourage others to sign up for our mailing list at  Many are unaware that we send weekly email.  This will be very important in the months ahead as we approach caucus and convention season.  Also, people may have to rejoin from time to time as their email provider takes them off our list thinking we are spam.  It happens every week and we have no control over it.  So if you ever hear anyone say that they used to get the newsletter, but no longer, they were likely removed by their own provider and they need to rejoin at the link above.

Call me.   I am available to you any time,
