Lincoln Day Dinner is Just Around the Corner!

Dear Michael --

The Lincoln Day Dinner
is our most important fundraiser of the year.  This year our Keynote speaker is Dr. Keith Smith from the Surgery Center of Oklahoma who has a practical, free-market solution to the high cost of medical care.  It is no secret that the pricing of surgical services is at the top of the list of problems in our dysfunctional healthcare system. Bureaucracy at the insurance and hospital levels, cost shifting and the absence of free market principles are among the culprits for what has caused surgical care in the United States to be cost prohibitive. It is clear that something must change.  Please invite your doctor, dentist, and other medical provider friends.  Dr. Smith’s model is gaining popularity around the nation and your friends will thank you for the invitation.

Purchase your tickets today at http://www.clarkrepublicans.org/ldd_2015.  Contact Katja at 360-771-4858 if you want to volunteer, have auction items to donate, or wish to connect with someone about becoming a sponsor.

CLARK COUNTY COUNCILOR PUBLIC HEARING April 7, 6:00 pm
1300 Franklin, 6th Floor Hearing Room, Vancouver, WA.
Do wonder how our elected servants decide how to vote on issues?  The county councilors have public hearings everyTuesday.  Your point of view is not often expressed in those meetings, but your opponents are well represented.  From this link you can find agendas, documents and links to CVTV recordings of each hearing.  You can verify your lack of representation by listening to those hearings.  It should be a call to action.  If you are in favor of the transparency in collective bargaining and giving employees a choice resolutions you should probably make your position known this Tuesday.  Surprisingly these ideas even have the support of the Columbian.  This hearing will be at 6pm since it is the first Tuesday of the month.  Clark County is on the threshold of beginning their collective bargaining negotiations so now is the time to pass these resolutions.  These ideas are good for both union members and taxpayers.

How did Dr. Keith Smith and the Surgery Center of Oklahoma become the nation's leading free market medical provider?  The Surgery Center posts their prices online, does not accept insurance, and charges patients a fraction of the cost of big hospitals.  As our 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner Keynote speaker, Dr. Smith will show us how free-market practices will allow people to obtain world-class medical care while the Affordable Care Act collapses under its own weight.  Here is Dr. Smith on Stossel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-w1FBbm8xU

Also joining us will be Trevor Loudon from New Zealand to speak about Magna Carta on its 800th Anniversary and why the United States Constitution is under continual assault.  You'll be exhilarated to hear him describe why your country's success is so important to an outsider from across the globe.  Come hear these great speakers at our largest fundraiser of the year, the 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner.  Tickets will go on sale this week for the May 30th event!
