From the Chairman's Desk-April 19, 2015

It's Up To Us!

The first line reads:  After five years and more than 50 votes in Congress, the Republican campaign to repeal the Affordable Care Act is essentially over.  This article from the LA times has been all over social media this weekend.

Samuel Adams once said: “If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.”

Doesn’t it seem like those patriots are already a few years late?  Was Samuel Adams talking about us?

We cannot trust our future to the political class.  It is up to us, the grassroots, the patriot, the average citizen, to find solutions to the problems vexing the nation.  That is why we have invited, as our Lincoln Day Dinner keynote speaker, Dr. Keith Smith, who is providing quality medical care that avoids the Affordable Care Act and insurance altogether.  You will want to hear his story about the Surgery Center of Oklahoma.

And we need YOU to make this event a success.  Please consider one or more of the following:

Ideas for donations:

Baskets of items from other cultures                          Jewelry
Basket filled with books                                             Paintings, glass artwork, or sculpture
Basket filled with pet items                                        Beach house, mountain cabin for a weekend
Basket of spa items                                                  Fine furniture: patio, wine rack, gas grill
Home improvement basket                                         Guns, ammo
Financial services                                                      Home, business cleaning service

Or anything you can think of that will generate excitement and raise funds for your CCRP.

How did Dr. Keith Smith and the Surgery Center of Oklahoma become the nation's leading free market medical provider?  The Surgery Center posts their prices online, does not accept insurance, and charges patients a fraction of the cost of big hospitals.  As our 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner Keynote speaker, Dr. Smith will show us how free-market practices will allow people to obtain world-class medical care while the Affordable Care Act collapses under its own weight.  Here is Dr. Smith on Stossel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-w1FBbm8xU

Also joining us will be Trevor Loudon from New Zealand to speak about Magna Carta on its 800th Anniversary and why the United States Constitution is under continual assault.  You'll be exhilarated to hear him describe why your country's success is so important to an outsider from across the globe.  Come hear these great speakers at our largest fundraiser of the year, the 2015 Lincoln Day Dinner.  Tickets will go on sale this week for the May 30th event!
